Cloud-seeding, snowpack and … whale flipper turbines?
By Summit Voice
SUMMIT COUNTY —The week started out with some coverage of renewable energy issues, as we looked at the federal government’s plan to quickly spur development of offshore wind power along the East Coast. At first glance, this may not seem like a “local” story, but in reality, energy issues are global. The more renewable energy we can develop, the less need for fossil fuels. That means less greenhouse gas emissions and less coal mining in Colorado.
We also previewed the new tubing hill and terrain in Frisco, and broke the story about cloud-seeding operations at three local Summit County ski areas. Please click on the headlines to read the stories, and if you like them, share on Facebook, Twitter or your social network of choice.
